What is Energy Therapy?
Energy therapy is the gentle art of clearing cellular memory through the human energy field promoting health, balance and relaxation. Energy therapy is based on the concept of connection between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual realms of our lives found in many holistic healing methods. It uses focused healing energy to clear blocks that accumulate in the body hindering the natural flow of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy. This healing focus promotes personal empowerment, self-healing and spiritual growth.
Why does it Work?
For many people, feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious, and tired become a way of life. Living this way can lead to health problems such as headache, digestive disorders, back and neck pain tension, and sleeplessness, among others. Additionally, situations such as conflict in relationships, both personal and professional, being unproductive and unhappy at work, can easily and consistently develop. These types of issues, which originate from physical, emotional, and mental stress often involve an unhealthy complex relationship between mind and body, are ideally suited for treatment with energy based bodywork and therapy.
Energy therapy acknowledges that negative life experiences create emotions such as anger, fear, stress, resentment, guilt and sadness and that these emotions become trapped in specific areas of the physical body. Trapped emotions, often called energy blocks, create physical, emotional and mental disharmony.
How does it Work?
During an energy session, suppressed emotions are released without the client having to remember the actual stressful event that caused the energy block. It is a safe, gentle, supportive method that can be used to release negative patterns of the past and help to empower and bring balance to your life. It is an extremely effective healing modality that releases stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and negative emotions.

CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY
Cranial sacral therapy is a gentle but powerful modality that has proven beneficial for a variety of conditions – including headaches, chronic pain, sinus conditions, IBS, anxiety and more.
The craniosacral system includes the structures of the central nervous system including the skull, the cranial sutures, the cerebrospinal fluid, membranes of the brain and the vertebrae, spinal cord and the sacrum. The craniosacral system is connected with the musculoskeletal system through the vascular system as well as the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Trauma anywhere in the body may impact the craniosacral system, restricting normal movement and inhibiting the pulse of the fluids.
It is believed that the normal rhythm can be interrupted by all kinds of trauma including during birth, childhood injuries, repetitive motion injuries, car accidents, falling accidents, injuries, and even from stressful events. CST uses a series of gentle techniques to remove blocks and restore this subtle movement, or pulse, in the central nervous system. CST uses gentle digital pressure and does not involve the manipulation or chiropractic “adjustment” of the skeletal system. The pressure used in CST is very light, about 5 grams of pressure or less – about the weight of a nickel.
During a cranial sacral session, the therapist may move the limbs and ribcage; check the hips and shoulders; and feel the cranium, spine and sacrum to determine where restrictions may be found. A key element of performing cranial sacral is the ability to feel the subtle rhythms, or lack thereof, in the central nervous system as well as the pulses in the body.
REIKI THERAPY
Reiki is a very specific form of energy healing, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.” Reiki can also be done “long-distance,” as a form of prayer. According to many versions of its origin, Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, brought the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922 after a deep spiritual experience. He is said to have begun teaching others after a serious earthquake hit Japan and he felt urged to spread his knowledge.
At Touch of Healing we consider Reiki as the "laying on of hands" and a pure energy form of healing therapy. A complete treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It is not dependent on your belief. We believe that all things come from God. Those of us who offer this modality at Touch of Healing are Christians who have a solid foundation in our faith and know that God is guiding and protecting us in all we do. We practice the laying on of hands with a secure belief that we are being guided to follow Jesus' example to be a healer and have been called by the Holy Spirit to use our gifts for the highest good of our clients.
In a Reiki session, the practitioner is seeking to transmit Universal Life Energy to the client. The intention is to create deep relaxation, to help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms you may be experiencing.
